이번 학기 수업을 시작한지 벌써 4주가 지났습니다. 다행인 점은 예전보다는 조금 마음이 편해졌다는 것 입니다. 1-2주 차때는 긴장되는 마음을 감출 수가 없었는데, 지금은 그런대로 수업을 진행해 나가고 있습니다. 아직 경험이 부족해 능숙하게 수업을 진행하지 못하고 있어 학생들에게 미안한 마음이 들기도 합니다. 그래도 14주 강의가 끝나면 서로 성장해있기를 기도해봅니다. 그럼 오늘도 수업시간에 나온 표현들을 정리해 보았습니다.
Take the lead (in doing something): 먼저 리드하다.
To be the first to start doing something or be most active in doing something
> It shows what is being done right now by companies taking the lead.

In a way: 어느 정도는, 어떤 면에서는

Literally: 문자 그대로
Used to emphasize the truth and accuracy of a statement or description

Segregate: 사람들을 인종 종교 성별에 따라 분리시키다. 떼어 놓다 (고립).
To separate or set apart from others or from the general mass

Amphitheater: 원형극장
> The spectators in the amphitheater cheered the gladiators
Other than that: 그것 말고는
With the exception of

Going in blind: 사전 정보 없이 가다.
As if your approaching a situation without having any previous knowledge or not knowing what the outcome will be you're going in blind.

Off the shelf: 특별히 디자인하거나 주문하지 않고 규격품으로 바로 살 수 있는

Push one's agenda: 안건을 밀어붙이다.
'pushing an agenda' is the same thing as 'aggressively promoting a cause'.
